UnrealTournament2004-Linux torrent description
This release is meant for the Linux gamer.
There was a malfunctioning DVD release in which the installer wouldn't work so here's my solution.
It does not include any serials whatsoever.
In this files you will find the original UT2004 cd release plus added map packs
and the (at the time of writing) latest patch.
Unreal Tournament 2004 CD images 1-6
Community Bonus Pack 2 Volume 1 and 2
Linux patch 3369-2
Install instructions and tips:
To install the iso's without burning any CD's you can use the commandline
or even easier, Gmountiso.
Create a directory in your home directory for each of the iso's and use Gmountiso
to mount them all. Doing this wil speed up the install sigificantly since you don't
need to switch CD's.
Copy the linux-installer.sh in CD 1 to your home directory and run it by either
double clicking it or via the commandline:
Enter your serial and choose where to install it. A good practise is to install
everything that doesn't come from your distributions repository into your home folder.
I install all my games in /home/myusername/Games.
Do not install symbolic links if you don't know what they do.
After you've done the install you can extract the map packs and copy them over
your install directory overwriting everything it asks for.
You have to do this before you apply the patch!
The reason for this is that the Mega pack upgrades the install for you to 3369 and the patch will install 3369-2.
If you reverse the installation order you're effectively performing a downgrade from 3369-2 to plain 3369.
Now you can run your game by running ut2004 in your install folder.
If you get this error:
./ut2004-bin: error while loading shared libraries: ./libSDL-1.2.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
it means that you have a 64bit linux install but you're trying to play the 32 bit binary of UT2004.
This is an easy fix. Open ut2004 with a text editor and replace every "ut2004-bin" you can find
with "ut2004-bin-linux-amd64" basicly adding the -linux-amd64 part.
Save it and have a blast!
